wrong 1099-int

I received a 1099-int under my name and ssn.  The bank issued a corrected 1099 (red) to the correct recipient ssn and name.  the last name is missing 1 letter (i assume no big deal on the name).

But wouldn't I need a corrected 1099-int to show $0 interest income to offset the incorrect 1099?

thanks

Not necessarily.

If the bank deleted the erroneous 1099-INT with the IRS, there would be no "corrected" one.

You could ask the bank for some sort of confirmation that the form was deleted, or assume they made the correction properly since a new, updated 1099-INT was issued.
