Working in two states

I am a resident of California.  In 2024,  I worked three months in California for one company, then the rest of 2024 I worked 8 months in Texas for another company. I expect I will be getting a W2 from each of those states. I know I will need to make two W2 entries in my federal 1040 tax return.  I already started populating the 2024 California return, but I need to know if Turbo Tax will allow me to populate the Texas information for that state within the federal and Ca returns?

Yes, TurboTax will calculate the tax for multistate returns.  Since Texas is a no income state, you will not have to file a Texas Income Tax Return. However, you will need to enter both W-2 on your federal return and TurboTax will help you calculate the tax due to California.

Since you were a California resident, the total income earned will be taxed by California.
