Working from home tax deductions

Hello,

Through my company, I have the opportunity to work from home from anywhere is the US.

Is it possible for me to get a tax deduction on expenses for my work set-up? if so, are there any conditions that must be met or does my company have to be notified of my intention to claim a deduction on my taxes?

If you are an employee, meaning your wages are reported on a Form W-2, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 disallowed deductions for office use of home.  These deductions were normally reported on Form 2106 as part of your itemized deductions on Schedule A.  In 2025, the office use of home deductions might be reinstated, but we'll have tp wait and see.
