Won't let me file until I fix Box 12. It keeps reporting that the amount in Box 12 should not be greater than the value in box 12 with code S but it's the same amount.

The values in Box 12 and Box 12s are the same value, but it's saying it can't be greater.

If you have only one entry for box 12 make sure you have only made one entry ... I suggest you delete the W-2 and enter it again manually if you cannot seem to fix the issue.

You can try to remove the cents in the box on the 'Check this Entry' screen. This should remove the error message.

Why is W-2 Box 12 code S causing an erroneous "Check this Entry" error message?

I did 2 things.

I manually entered my W-2 but that also created the same issue.

The 2nd thing I did was reduce the cents value by 1 until it took it.

The original value was 09 cents, but it finally took it after reducing the cents to 05.

Seems like a weird issue, but that's what worked for me.

Hope this helps.

Since Intuit can't sole their own issue, we call reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/TurboTax/comments/1agw8go/box_12_code_s_error_any_ideas/
