TurboTax 2016, 2017 and 2018 will run newest Windows releases.
Updates for TurboTax CD/Download will not install on Windows 10
When I click on the link "Updates for TurboTax CD/Download will not install on Windows 10" I get to a page that says "You do not have sufficient privileges for this resource or its parent to perform this action."
I think that is an FAQ that helps in certain situations wehr the update doesn't happen.
You shouldn't have that issue with 2016, 2017, or 2018 software as long as you make sure you install as an administrator.
(you can't install 2015 or earlier, since those years no longer have the required updates you need to run them.)

make sure you create a PDF file of your final tax return every year, and you won't need the software to view your tax file in the future. Always Save two PDF files.......one as the bare tax return, and again with all the forms and worksheets that went into it.
