Will I be okay on April 15 if I have already filed taxes and paid my tax bill on its.gov? The website still does not show my tax return, but shows my payments.

I file on March 7 and it was accepted by IRS.

You are good!  It takes a bit of time before your return will show up in your IRS Account, but you know they have it because it has been accepted.   Once they fully process the return, it will be available in your IRS Account.

That's fine and right.  Were you looking at your IRS account?

Yes.  If your payment was made and your return was accepted, then you are likely good for the 2024 tax year.

Yes. It still shows information is not available for 2024, but it also shows my payments.

Why is it taking so long for the IRS to show my return? My anxiety comes from the fact that I followed Turbo Tax's advice and filed with "Direct Debit" to be paid on April 15, and I've paid the tax bill on irs.gov since then - will the IRS automatically try to debit my bank on the 15th if they still don't have my return showing on their website?

If your return is showing as accepted, but it has not been processed yet, then the IRS is the only one that can tell you what is causing the delay.

Yes, if you did the direct debit and chose to have your amount due direct debited from your account, they will still take it out when they process your return.  If you want to stop this you will need to contact the IRS for help.  You can contact them at 800-829-1040.
