Will I be fined if I file an extension, with a refund, due to being in the Review Hell Loop?

After filling out all the federal and state tax forms and getting totals for my refund on my return, I can't submit it due to a glitch in the system and being stuck in the Review Hell Loop. The instructions to get out of it didn't work and it says to file an extension. I need to know, even with a refund, do we get fined and if we will be fined, will Turbo Tax cover the fine since it's their system that's not working right. I have used Turbo Tax for over a decade and have never had a problem like this. Thank you.

You can file an extension (for more time to file) without penalty. If you owe tax, though, it must be paid by 4/15 to avoid a penalty. You can pay tax directly to the IRS using their direct pay website, for either estimated taxes or taxes due.

Oh, and so sorry to hear about the R H L.... May it spiral into success soon.

No, there is no penalty for filing a return late if you are due a refund.
