Will I be able to file even though federal review is showing error for overpaid elective deferral (401k) even after reporting the difference as misc. income as suggested?

Will I be able to file even though federal review is showing error for overpaid elective deferral (401k) even after reporting the difference as misc. income as suggested?

I have followed the procedure detailed in link below to report the difference as misc. income (but still getting an error in federal review - Will I still be able to file): https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/4379151-i-over-contributed-401k-by-150-in-2017-due-to-job-change-on-turbo-tax-do-i-add-150-to-boxes-1-3-and-5-and-then-subject-150-from-box-12-what-do-i-do-with-1099-r

It was just announced that an update is currently planned for April 12th, 2019 to resolve this e-filing issue.

You may still see a warning about the excess contribution, but you should be able to e-file.  You can check out this TurboTax FAQ for more information: Excess 401(k) Contribution Preventing E-filing
