Why would my medicare wages be higher than social security wages? Do you think this is an error on my W-2?

Yes it's possible.  Social Security wages are maxed out at 137,700.  And there can be pretax deductions that are not included.  Like maybe health ins.

No. Not an error. 

Social Security Wages are capped, not so for Medicare.
