Why would my actual estimated taxes paid be different from estimated taxes listed in the Turbo Tax Review Section ($5,000 less)? Thanks!

I need all the deductions I can get!

Check your entries.

  1. Go to Deductions and Credits
  2. Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
  3. Select Estimated Tax Payments
  4. Select Federal estimated taxes for 2024 (Form 1040-ES)
  5. On the following screen, check amount paid.

Yes, that is the strange part.  I entered the correct amount of estimated taxes paid in 2024 (17K entered in Estimates and Other Taxes Paid) and double-checked that it was entered properly - it was.  I was about to file when I noticed in the "Review" section, only 13K was listed as "estimated taxes paid" which is not consistent with what was entered earlier.  Oh!  I bet I know.  13k was for Federal Taxes b/c I paid 4K into Illinois.  Aha!  Thanks for weighing in and getting me to solve this!
