Why would I be asked to fill out form 8962 when I have health insurance through my employer never been asked to do fill out this form I have my own through my work place"

If you are not required to file 8962 then just delete it.

What is form 8962?

The IRS is requesting Form 8962 for 2020

 

Note: You have to complete and file Form 8962 with your income tax return if any of the below applies to you.

  • You qualify for the Premium Tax Credit (PTC) for 2020, which is for those who are enrolled, or whose family member is enrolled, in a qualified health plan
  • Advance payment of the premium tax credit (APTC) was paid for you or another family member
  • APTC was paid for a person you told the Health Insurance Marketplace would be in your family, but you didn’t include that person in your return

Since you’ll need Form 1095-A to calculate your PTC, you must wait until receiving that form before you can complete Form 8962.

I do not see the turbo tax tools you are talking about when I log into my turbo tax account.  all I see is tax home and documents to click on I do not see any turbo tax tools you are talking about please let me know what I am doing wrong.  I can see the document when I download my tax return but I am not giving any options to delete it.

May I ask are you using TurboTax Online, TurboTax Desktop, or TurboTax Mobile app?
