Why was I exempt from the ACA tax even though I only had insurance for partial year?

I had Insurance 3 months out of the year. My daughter had Insurance the entire year. It said I was exempt from the tax because of my situation. Yet after I overlooked my tax return it acted as if I'm marked that I had Insurance all year. I started like I was doing a new tax return and it did the same thing. It's got me really stressed out now someone help

if you claimed your daughter as a dependent, then if your household modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) was less than $16,240 (except alaska and hawaii),    medical insurance coverage was not require.  as a matter of fact you might qualify for Medicaid.   what is household   MAGI? in most situations that would be your adjusted gross income + your daughters adjusted gross income which should have been entered on line 2b of form 8962.

or you might have qualified for another exemption such as the cost of coverage being unaffordable.

AGI was $18,464. My main concern is on the finished form it shows it marked that I had it all year, which I did not and even started a new mock return to double check and it did the same.
