You must enter the W-2s where and when prompted. I noticed that you entered the 1099Rs as wages in an earlier post. Wages which are reported on Form W-2 are reported in the Wage section of the return.
Please follow these steps to enter your W-2:
- Open your return.
- Using the search feature in the upper right, search for "w-2" (lower case, with or without the dash) and then click the "Jump to" link in the search results.
- A W-2 screen will open. On this screen you can add, edit or delete a W-2 as necessary. Select Add or Edit.
- Enter the 9-digit Employer ID Number from your W-2, and click Continue.
- If your employer is a TurboTax partner, we will lead you through the steps to import your W-2.
Or you can manually enter your W-2:
If your employer is not a TurboTax partner, or if you're otherwise unable to import your W-2 or prefer to manually enter your W-2, you can do so:
- After following Steps 1-4 above, you will come to the W-2 screen where you can enter the info from your W-2 into the appropriate boxes.
- You can also skip entering the Employer ID Number and proceed to manually enter your W-2 info.
