Why is Turbo Tax showing only $12,000.00 for standard deduction when Form 1040-SR shows $13,850.00 deduction for singles?

Form 1040-SR is for people who are 65 or older. People over 65 get an additional $1650 added to their standard deduction.

The standard deduction for a single person under 65 is $12,200 for 2019, If you are over 65 and single it is $13,850.

You must be 65 or older especially if you got the 1040SR form.

For 2019 the standard deduction amounts are:

Single 12,200 + 1,650 for 65 and over or blind = 13,850

HOH 18,350 + 1,650 for 65 and over or blind

Joint 24,400+ 1,300 for each 65 and over or blind

Married filing Separate 12,200 + 1,300 for 65 and over or blind
