Why is Turbo Tax asking me if I want to delete a form 1099 MISC? Is the form empty?

in 2019 the form I had was 1099-MISC.  This year it is 1099-NEC.   Is Turbo Tax asking me to delete and Empty 1099-MISC?

The IRS reintroduced Form 1099-NEC, non-employee compensation, for 2020. Payments that were previously reported on 1099-MISC, Box 7 in 2019 are now reported on Box 1 of 1099-NEC.

 

As a result, you were issued a 1099-NEC instead of 1099-MISC. However, TurboTax "remembered" your 1099-MISC from last year to make sure you did not miss anything when preparing your 2020 taxes.

 

To delete Form 1099-MISC:

  1. Type 1099-misc in Search in the upper right
  2. Select Jump to 1099-misc
  3. On 1099-MISC Summary, click DELETE
