Why is TT making me manually fill in all these boxes on a downloaded 1099-div?

I don't remember ever having to do this.

You may have accidently told the program that you would enter your information manually or your form did not import properly.

A bunch of Yellow boxes?

One way to clear them (at least it works on the 1099-R forms)?
1) Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on <Back>

2)  on the prior page, click on <Edit>

that might do it....but maybe not

If there are yellow boxes...you may have to click on the "X" in the lower corner of the box.

Some checkboxes that should be empty...may have to be "X"d and then un-"X"d  (If box 11 is yellow)

Thanks.  I 'x' ed them out and got away with it but not sure if  I should be doing that.  I've used TT for years but don't recall ever seeing this... so something has changed, somewhere.

Yeah....I've seen that on empty carry-over 1099-R forms that are re-used from last year, and only happens with those folks using the "Online" software.  Certainly, gazillions of returning Users are being confused by this behavior, but are just muddling thru with it..adn occasionally screwing things up for themselves by actually making entries in boxes that should be entirely empty.

Don't know what TTX is up to by doing that.  Probably a software manager who didn't fully test the results of some program team's software change....certainly it would have to be some software change with unintended consequences.   Maybe too late to fully fix it this year, as that kind of bug is likely embedded in a way that would require a really major effort.
