Why is my used EV credit only $2,981 when it should be $4,000? I marked it as a personal car and the sales price was $16,990

This credit is a nonrefundable credit when you file your taxes, so you can't get back more on the credit than you owe in taxes. You can't apply any excess credit to future tax years.
