Why is my unemployment compensation doubling when I enter my 1099-g form?

I would recommend deleting the 1099G using the trash can, logging out of TurboTax, then log back in and re-enter the 1099G.  TurboTax works best in the Chrome Web Browser.  I would also recommend clearing your cache and cookies from your web browser before you log back into TurboTax.

Here is how you clear your cache and cookies in Chrome

Remember, 1099G-Unemployment Benefits are considered taxable income so if you have an option to withhold Federal income taxes, it would soften the tax impact at the end of the year.

Finally found the actual fix while looking through other questions on here. Almsot said screw it and just filed which would have been bad. Here's the fix that worked for me. :

You may have duplicate 1099-G form entries that need to be deleted directly from the list of forms as follows:

  1. Tax tools (on the left menu bar)
  2. Tools
  3. Delete a form

Find any duplicate form 1099-G's in the list and delete the forms.

There were two 1099-G forms on mine for some reason. Such a simple fix for the tax experts to not be giving clear instructions on...
