Why is it that I am missing like 768$ from my federal? I’ve checked all transcripts and everything says I am missing that much. Both it’s and turbo tax as well.

Please clarify your question.

 

  • Did you already file your tax return?
  • Did anything say you were going to get the $768 back?
  • Was this an amount withheld from your pay check?
  • Just to confirm what you mean
    • Both your Transcript and
    • TurboTax indicate that you will not get the $768 refund?

Yes I already filed and my IRS transcripts as well as turbo tax transcripts said the return would be 768$ more than what I got. I am confused why and what I need to do to receive that or figure out where It went. Both transcripts say I was issued the right amount and it shows up short in my account once it was deposited

If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the $40 service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the $40 service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.
