Why does where's refund say I am giving wrong information compared to what they have?

Filed 3 weeks by mail. Spouse died in 2023 and have always filed separate except this year

Sometimes people get confused by the “summary” given by TurboTax and use the wrong amount for the federal refund.  Make sure you are only using the federal refund amount, and not an amount that combined your federal and state refunds.

Your federal refund amount is on line 35a of your Form 1040

sory for your loss

if you filed by mail the IRS may not have gotten to your return.

according to the iRS website they're still working on 2023 returns received in April

This does not include those that require error correction or other special handling.

your 2023 return may be such a case

Where's my refund.

Enter the SSN of the taxpayer, not spouse.

"Enter the SSN of the taxpayer, not spouse."

Well, this rule may not work if taxpayer is deceased.
