Why does the webpage for "Review your 1099-R info" continue to show "needs review" after all the information for the financial institution has been completed?

I have deleted the information for the financial institution and re-entered the same information as a new 1099-R. I did it once by entering the information manually and another time by dragging and dropping the 1099-R onto the website. Both times the financial institution 1099-R continues to show "needs review."

Others have reported problems with 1099 forms this year.   Try doing a complete review by clicking REVIEW on the left side and see if any error comes up.  The needs review error message will not prevent you from filing the return.  I hope Intuit addresses this issue soon.

Thanks for your help.  I tried your suggestion to start a review of my return, and it showed a checklist with a "to-do list which included the 1099-R that I was working.  That page still showed "needs review" in orange but it also had a blue "review" button.  I clicked on the review button and responded "no" to the question on the following page about whther I had ever taken a disaster distribution before 2024.  I then clicked on the "continue" button which took me back to the "to-do" list which still showed the same 1099-R as "needs review."  As you said, I hope TurboTax gets this problem fixed quickly.

I have the same problem, I think.  Turbotax Deluxe 2024 will not let me file electronically. It always takes me to 1099-R worksheet highlighting the RMD amount which I know is correct. How can I get rid of this error message so I can e-file my return?

Some of my RMD went to charity and I did withdraw more than the RMD amount as taxable income in 2024. Both of these facts were properly disclosed in the turbotax interview questions.

If I need to mail a paper copy of my Form 1040 to the IRS, the value of using this software program is substantially diminished!

You must answer YES you took the full RMD. Otherwise, the program is looking to penalize you.

2/18/25 This issue is still occurring.  It was identified a month ago, why not yet resolved?  When will this be fixed and how can we be notified?  Until this is fixed, no charges should be applied for the software or efiling.

For my issue turned out the total distribution field for the state had to be filled in as not defaulted from the form.

after going through the form one last time, I found the error message that stated the form had to be mailed in and cannot be filed electronically. I now need to know how to clear it out the cue and receive a refund for the payment I made to e-file the state forms?

I got rid of the Needs Review message when  I marked that the RMD was 100%.
