Which box on your W-2 are you referring to? Are you instead referring to a Control Number in Box D?
It’s #9 and it’s entered the same as my w2 but stating I need to fix it before efileing
@sdavisson3 You're saying there is a number in 9, but it is not being accepted when you attempt to e-file?
Yes it’s titled a verification code box9 on my w2. When I go to efile it says I need to fix it.

Thanks, @macuser_22. I was just asking if the e-file would go through if this item was left blank.
It should. It is optional according to the IRS but some payroll companies are using it to import W-2's.
