Why does 1099-DIV Payers name and Federal ID number that I Imported not match paper tax reporting statement ?

There may have been an issue with the importing process. Enter the payer's name and Federal ID number as shown on the paper tax reporting statement so that the information will be accurate.

Maybe related.  Unable to finish fileing

Payer number, tax ID, (typo) no match.  How can I update and finish my fileing?

If you get a Payer ID error on a state return, you can use the Payer's Federal ID number instead.  Make sure the two-letter State Abbreviation is correct. 

If you imported, delete the 1099 form, and re-enter manually.
