Why did was my refund reduced ? It states possible my dependents last name or social was incorrect I've reviewed all and insured they are correct.

I noticed one section states something about was this dependent under age 24 or in school neither of which I checked off but wouldnt the irs still calculate this amount by the birthday entered??

@17me29360 - normally all the folks on these boards that experience a reduction of their refund are becuase of one of two issues, and I'd like to see if one of thse is the issue. Otherwise, you don't provide enough detail for us to help.

1) how much did the IRS reduce the refund by?

2) what is on Line 28 of the tax return (form 1040)

3) what is on Line 30 of the tax return (form 1040)

from that I can determine if this is related to the Recovery Rebate Credit or the Child Tax credit -
