You can make an adjustment on your 2020 tax return for stimulus payments you qualify for, but have not received.
To do this in TurboTax, please follow these steps:
So in other words, we are not getting the other half? I’m so sick and tired of all of this!! This is the WORSE time for all this mess up!! During a pandemic at that! People are depending on these funds, now you guys say “oh sorry, you’ll have to wait”, Smh just ridiculous. The bank is saying call IRS, IRS is saying call you guys.. smh
This is crazy!
If your adjusted gross income (AGI) is below,
you should receive $600 per taxpayer plus $600 per qualifying dependent child. Children have to be 16 or younger as of Dec. 31, 2020 to qualify. @Delldani1
I believe TurboTax held the other half. They are holding it so we will have to file our taxes with them to get the other half. It's a way they can get more business. I'm pretty sure it's against the law. I'm having my attorney look into this.
Are you serious!? I believe it because when I called TT tried to act like they had no idea what I was saying. Here’s the kicker.. they keep saying “you can file it on your taxes” THAT’S NOT ENTIRELY TRUE- now it will be used as a “tax credit” meaning that it ISNT an additional (900 in our case) amount on top of your refund, it’s used as a tax credit, in other words if you paid too little in taxes that money you THOUGHT you were getting (and should because it’s owed to every American) is gonna go towards that obligation! Funny how they are not explaining this!! I’m beyond pissed! You have a right to be as well! To give us only HALF of what’s owed it’s nonsense (and I want to say other words lol) please let me know what your attorney says!
No. Not my fault. I qualify for $1800, no more or no less. TurboTax gave me $900 and kept the other $900. This is not legal at all. I want my other $900. I'm NOT filing and paying TurboTax to get the other $900 that TurboTax stole from me!
Your dumbass must work for TurboTax. Probably getting a cut of the money stolen from me by TurboTax.
It is a refundable credit. So it gets applied to any taxes you owe and then your get the rest added to your refund. The IRS can tell you why you only got $900 .
TurboTax did not give you $900. The IRS did. You can file with any company or on paper to get the money if it is owed to you.
@DanPaul02 The funny thing is... what you are saying is FALSE! Not only did I speak to the IRS but I spoke to Turbo Tax as well PNC bank ALL of which pointed fingers at one another... before you speak please know facts!!! The IRS said I should have gotten ALL of my stimulus as I did the FIRST stimulus and I DID NOT OWE ANYONE OR ANYTHING, the bank said they only deposited what TT SENT THEM to direct deposit, and lastly, TT said they sent the bank what the IRS sent them (mistakenly) to send me which should have been the full 1800 according to the IRS. So please state what you know and do not assume it makes you look like an idiot! As for the refundable tax credit, THAT’S WHAT BOTH THE IRS AS WELL AS TURBO TAX SAID TO ME YESTERDAY so if you have an issue with that I don’t know what to tell you! Speak facts please!
i am in the same boat, should have got 3000 and only got 1500. the IRS would send increments of 600 there is no reason it would have been 1500. this is fishy as hell and they are not taking responsibility for screwing up on their end.
It definitely is very fishy. This has to stop. TurboTax needs to come clean on this and release the FULL amount. I even filed a complaint with the BBB on this. I'm due money and I believe TurboTax stole it.

TurboTax is not a bank, it cannot send or receive a stimulus payment. Only the IRS controls when and if a stimulus payment is distributed.
Go to this IRS get my payment website - https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment
If you do not receive any other stimulus payments by January 15, 2021, then the stimulus payment for which you are eligible to receive will be entered on your 2020 federal tax return as a tax credit on Form 1040 Line 30.
The TurboTax program will ask about stimulus payments in the Federal Review section of the program.
You are so wrong my friend. TurboTax stole money from me and a bunch of other people. TurboTax wants us to file and claim the rest do they can charge us to get our money. Your answer isn't fooling anyone.

You are free to believe anything you want to believe. However, since TurboTax is only a software company and not a bank with a routing number or any account number for receiving ACH payments it is not possible for TurboTax to receive or send any type of tax refund or stimulus payment.
If you used the Refund Processing Service to have the TurboTax account fees paid from your federal tax refund, then see the information on this SBTPG website - https://www.sbtpg.com/coronavirus-stimulus-payment-info/
the IRS did not send half payments, there is literally no math where we would end up with 900 or 1500. they have all of our information, Turbotax absolutely sends money like a bank or they would not have been able to forward the amount after the IRS screwed up and sent payments to their accounts rather than ours. I believe this is a turbo tax error now. they need to check again and send us the rest of the money we are due. People are hurting and shouldn't have to wait for tax time.
Same here. I am owed another $1500! Both the IRS (we already know) and Turbotax are full of incompetence. For a "software company" they sure don't have a clue. Or maybe they are complicit? No way that they didn't know the "dummy accounts" used to take the fees from our tax refund were closed and that it would pose a risk for those people! We received the previous stimulus fine because it was still tax season. Now they only send half of the money to what seems like a bunch of people and again they deflect. What a bunch of clowns!!! We will get to the bottom of it! The IRS and Turbotax had to work out the first issue and if they don't figure this out they will be in trouble. A tax credit isn't the same a stimulus. Stealing money from the people is going to be a mistake.
A friend of mine told me my husband and I should have gotten $1200 each in the first stimulus check. We each only got $600. We make well under the $75000 in income. I also had this friend do my taxes this year especially to get the third check but he never asked for my bank account info. The first & second checks were deposited into our account so I thought the second 1/2 of the first ck would also be deposited. Got the 2nd check no problem.
When you prepared your 2020 tax return, you should have a recovery rebate credit on line 30 equal to the stimulus payment due you for the first round. If you did not list deposit account information on your 2020 tax return, your refund will be mailed to you.
You should also get a third round stimulus check of $1,400 each. You don't need to do anything special to get that check, since you filed a tax return for 2020.
