why am I getting w-2 from former company after selling espp?

Hello,

I sold my former company espp and I found that a w-2 about this espp from my former company is on adp website. Is it normal? Do I need to input this w-2 when I file tax? Or I only need to input 1099-B about the sale? Thank you.

Yes, you need to enter the W-2 as well as your 20199-B. The value of ESPP is your income and is reported on your W-2 in the year received. If you received the stock in 2020, you need to report the value of the stock as income  plus gain on the sale, if any, from your 1099-B on your tax return.
