Why am I being asked to pay $45 to file my State return when I’ve already upgraded my service package?

I believe the fee you are being asked to pay would be the state filing fee. All TurboTax products, with the exception of free file, have a charge for the federal filing and the state filing. Please see the attached screenshot.

Yes, thank you, I did understand there was an additional fee to file State tax (it was printed clearly in a couple of different places and, as luck would have it, I tend to read what is in front of me).  My confusion stemmed from the fact that, after paying money I didn’t necessarily want to from the start (for a single form I was told I was required to file as a result of my student loans), I was asked to hand over half of my state return as well, especially given how much TurboTax likes to push the message of, “free,” filing in their advertising. I realize, now, that it is because said company has surely traded fair and ethical business practice for profit, as so many corporations do, and that it would be better for my own peace of mind to take future business elsewhere.
But I appreciate you attention to the matter, as well as your prompt reply.
