Why am I being asked to answer an advanced child tax credit during the review, when I am single with no dependents?

If my return was simple, why am I paying $29?

It is possible that single taxpayers with no qualifying children to claim in 2021 could have received the advance payments for the Child Tax Credit because they claimed their child as a qualifying child the previous year.  Divorced parents who 'share' the dependency of their child every other year is a common example.

Did you report advance payments reported on IRS Letter 6419?
