While doing my taxes, TurboTax said I may qualify for a tax break on my mortgage. I answered some questions, then TT gave my number & email to telemarketers call all day!

That was not the Turbo Tax income tax program ... that was the free TURBO financial program that you unfortunately answered some questions in ... when they call simply say you are in the middle of a bankruptcy or block their calls.

This was in the middle of doing my taxes, not in some other program.  I entering in some charitable donations, and it said it wanted to make sure I was getting a tax break that was about to expire, and I should check to see if I qualify for this tax break.  I've used TurboTax online for many years to do my taxes and have never had this kind of subterfuge occur.  I've been very careful with my phone number and have been on the DNC list forever, and now, I'n getting literally about 10 calls a day from these different lenders thinking I want to apply for a new mortgage, which I don't.  SO SLEAZY TURBOTAX!!

"just block their calls" right, they use a different local phone number every time. TurboTax caused this with their false advertising (in the middle of doing taxes!!!) they need to fix this.  That' the least they can do.

i wouldn't say your filing like critter2 suggests.  they may keep a record of this and should you ever want or need a new mortgage, you could have caused a problem for yourself.
