I have been using turbotax premier, and still need the investment reporting however, I'm starting a small retail business and need to report business income and expenses, what product does all that? Also, I purchase the premier cd and do not download the program
Any of the TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions can be used to report investment sales and self-employment income and expenses. So the Premier edition you are using is sufficient, unless you want further guidance with the self-employment interview you can upgrade to the Home and Business desktop edition.
In the Premier Edition for self-employment go to the section Business Items. Federal Taxes>Wages and Income>I'll choose what I work on>Business Items.
Note - The Premier edition will recommend that you use the Home and Business edition to enter your self-employment income and expenses. This is a Recommendation only and NOT a requirement.
