Where will I be able to buy TurboTax Mac Desktop software for the 2023 tax year??g

I've been using TurboTax (Deluxe or Premier) for many years.  Each year I buy and download a copy of TT for Mac Desktop and I would intend to do that again for this upcoming 2023 tax year.  I received a recent email from TT announcing that in order to install Mac Desktop software (TT) that I would need to be able to login to my Intuit account...  Does that mean I must also buy the software directly from Intuit???  Or might I still be able to buy TurboTax Deluxe (for example) for the Mac from say Amazon???   Important to know that before I decide how to proceed...

You do not have to buy the software directly from Intuit (e.g., you can buy it from Amazon).

 

However, you will need to log in to your TurboTax account in order to use the product.

The marketing emails encourage you to purchase from Intuit---that is what "marketing" does.   You will still be able to purchase from retailers like Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, etc. etc---likely for lower prices.
