The Search bar is located on the top right, on the TurboTax Online program. Please see the screenshot below:

I keep getting "about:blank#blocked" with this attempt to locate the search bar.

The Search button is located on the upper right-hand side of the screen with a magnifying glass next to it. If you are receiving an error message when clicking on it, try logging out of your TurboTax account, clear cache and delete cookies to see if that solves the issue. Please let us know if this helps.

The reply instructs one to fine a search button, not a bar, which is the automated instruction.  If it's supposed to be a button and not a bar please change the wording.

Can't get to import page for Vanguard 1099's.  Search button (not bar) brings instructions that do not solve the problem.

Please clarify which version of TurboTax you are using. This makes a difference in the instructions for importing Form 1099-B.

As an alternative to the standard search function, I suggest an alternative.

As an alternative you can go to the main menu on the left side of the screen.

  1. Select Tax Tools
  2. On the drop-down select Tools
  3. There will be 4 green boxes
  4. Select Topics Search
  5. Type the form number or a topic.
  6. Continue through the questions and it will be posted to your return.
