Where does it state whether i am filing a 1040, or an 1040A

If you are using the Free Edition, it only handles simple 1040-A and 1040-EZ returns, with standard deductions. 

If you are using Deluxe or higher that will have the 1040 long form

NOTE: You can check to see which one you have by following the steps here below

  • Log into your account and click the orange Take me to my return button
  • Go to My Account in top right 
  • Choose Tools and then View Tax Summary
  • Once there, click Preview my 1040 near top and it will show on the form which one you have.
