You will need to have your return open in order for the Jump To link to appear.

To enter a 1099-PATR for farm or co-op dividends:

  1. Open (continue) your return in TurboTax
  2. Inside TurboTax, search for 1099-PATR (be sure to include the dash) and then select the Jump to link in the search results
  3. Follow the instructions to enter info about your farm
  4. When you get to Your Farming Income and Expenses, you will enter your 1099-PATR info in Livestock, grain, produce, custom work, co-ops

If your 1099-PATR isn't for farm or co-op dividends, it gets entered as general business income:

  1. Open (continue) your return in TurboTax
  2. Inside TurboTax, search for business (schedule c) (use this exact phrase) and then select the Jump to link in the search results
  3. When asked Did you have any self-employment income or expenses? answer Yes
    1. If you'd previously entered self-employed income, you'll come to Your 2022 self-employed work summary. Select Add another line of work to enter information about your farm
  4. Follow the instructions to enter info about your farm
  5. When you get to Let's enter the income for your (type of farming) work, select Other self-employed income and Continue
  6. Enter the information from your 1099-PATR on the Tell us about other self-employed income screen

See this help article for more information.

See here for more information from the IRS on this topic.

I am signed into turbotax and search for the 1099-PATR form.  I get the directions to use that explain to use the 'jump to' link but there is no link.  When I search for the 1099-PATR form under wages & income the search doesn't find it.

Where am I suppose to search for the link?  Or where is the form?

Thanks.

Most often, your Form 1099-PATR reports dividends associated with a farm or cooperative (co-op). You can also receive a 1099-PATR for other reasons (for example, a land bank mortgage or backup withholdings made on your behalf)

Please check the link below for instruction on how to report your form:

Where do I enter Form 1099-PATR?

There is no 'Jump to' link.  There is nothing to click to link to.

I have followed the directions but there is no LINK.

Where is the link?

If you are using the desktop program, you can click on the magnifying glass, search for 1099-patr and use the Jump to link.   If you are using TurboTax Online, you must be in the Premium version to get to the Jump to link to enter a 1099-PATR.      Where do I enter 1099-PATR?

Tip: If the dividends in box 1 of your 1099-PATR came from property purchased for personal use (or capital assets or depreciable property used in your business), you don't have to enter your 1099-PATR. Keep it with your tax records, though.

There is no jump item in my search results.  You keep giving the same wrong directions and I keep following your wrong directions.   I have done all you said many times and there is no "Jump to 1099-PATR" item in the  help search results.

Please try this as an alternative

As an alternative you can go to the main menu.

  1. Select Tax Tools
  2. On the drop-down select Tools
  3. There will be 4 green boxes
  4. Select Topics Search
  5. Type 1099 PATR
  6. The form 1099 PATR interview will start.

Please contact us again with any additional questions or to provide some additional details.

@Skyexplorer --

And if that doesn't work, try this:

Click on Search.

Enter 1099-PATR.

Click on "More info on Form 1099-PATR"

On the page that opens, enter 1099-PATR in the search line at the top, and enter.

The "jump to" link appears in the window that opens.

As an alternative search you can go to the main menu.

  1. Select Tax Tools. You may have to minimize the Federal and State sections.
  2. On the drop-down select Tools
  3. There will be 3 green boxes
  4. Select Topics Search
  5. Type the form number or a topic.
  6. 1099-PATR
  7. Continue through the questions and it will be posted to your return.

The magnifying glass ("search") takes me back to online help--it does not actually search within TurboTax. So i have no idea where to enter 1099-PATR data and it is VERY frustrating. I guess I'll just have to go line by line by line ....which is STUPID in 2025.

With TurboTax Online open:

  1. Select the magnifying glass next to Search in the upper-right corner of the program
  2. Enter this, exactly:  1099-PATR
  3. On your keyboard, select Enter
  4. The Jump to 1099-patr link should appear. Select the link

5.  On this screen, select the relevant type of income, then select Continue:

6.  Enter your information as appropriate

That may work for the online version but I'm using the desktop version. Is there no 1099-PATR form on the desktop version and there sure is no jump to link. What am I supposed to do now?

I agree with you. This is seriously annoying. Did you ever find the 1099-PATR form?

The screenshots provided by @JohnW152 were taken directly from one of the TurboTax desktop editons.

Enter 1099-patr in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen.  Click on Jump to 1099-patr

Is the 1099-patr not in the deluxe version? I see you are using premier version

Not yet, and no time to hunt right now. I have wanted to enter forms as they were received. Now I'll just hope that I don't forget when I do stumble across 1099-PATR's place in TurboTax H&B (sigh).

You have AI for the search engine and it needs to be turned off -

Click on the File menu at the top left of the desktop program screen.

Click on Signed in as (your User ID)

On the Account Information window click on Sign out.  On the following window click on Sign out.

Click on Search on the right side of the desktop program screen.  When the Sign on window opens click on the X in the top right of the window.

In the Search box, type in 1099-PATR and Enter

Click on Jump to 1099-PATR

Thanks for trying.

Tried that a couple of times. The worthless "help" respawns as soon as I hit the magnifying glass search button, even after I refuse to sign in. Anyway, does it make sense that I would have access to a useful answer when signed out but not when signed in? Doesn't purchased software usually work the other way, where signed-in users have access to things that non-signed-in users do not have?

I can try launching the app as administrator--last year "as Administrator" was essential for the first several months, because otherwise I was looking at blank pages in the app. Maybe it will solve this problem, too. I'll try that tomorrow.

To clarify, what was the 1099 PATR issued for?

I have the same problem as Edward.  I have followed all the instructions presented and cannot find a link to the 1099-PATR.  I have the same screen shots presented by Edward, no link.  I'm also using Deluxe.  My PATR is from my grain Cooperative and is farm income.  In previous years I just entered the sale of grain (Box 3 of 1099-PATR) in the income box on the 4835.  Probably will have to do the same this year.  Be nice if I could find the actual form that asked for the information in all the boxes on the 1099-PATR.

Mine is also farm income, a patronage distribution from a farm credit coop that financed a land purchase a few years ago. I don't want to cause a headache for the IRS people, especially now--I'd like to do my taxes correctly.

Search for 1099-patr.   Make sure to include the dash.
