Where do I post interest income for Cryptocurrency for which I have no 1099-INT?

Nor did I receive a 1099-MISC.

I want to be clear about what type of income you received.

Was it interest? Or,

Was it money earned from staking?

Both are taxed similarly but are posted to different areas.

To post it as interest

  1. Go to Wages & Income
  2. Work on other income
  3. Select Interest on 1099-INT (You may have to scroll down to get it.)
  4. Did you receive any interest income? Yes
  5. Scroll down to Change how I enter my Form
  6. Scroll down to Type it myself
  7. Follow screens to enter the information

Staking will generate passive income.  This is similar to getting interest in a checking account.

  1. Staking will be taxed in the year that you receive it (Taxed as USD)
  2. Posted to Wages & Income
  3. Less Common Income
  4. Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C
  5. Income from renting out a personal property (not rental real estate or farm rentals)

Thank you for the info.  It is interest, not money earned from staking.
