There are several types of 1098 forms.

If you have a 1098 reporting Mortgage Interest, type '1098' in the Search area, then click on 'Jump to 1098'.

If you have a 1098-T for Education Expenses, go to the Education section under Deductions & Credits.

If you have a 1098 for Student Loan Interest, click this link for instructions on How to Enter Student Loan Interest.

There are many 1098 forms, but the most common is for mortgage interest.  The form comes from your mortgage company.  You do not directly enter the form, but use the information when completing Schedule A, itemized deductions.  The form will give you how much you paid in interest. If you pay taxes and insurance via your mortgage, the form will also tell you how much you paid in real estate taxes.  Both items are deductible expenses through Schedule A.  TurboTax will not create a Form 1098 in your return
