Where do I enter the amount of Stimulus payment received in 2020?

I just transmitted Federal.  The program did not ask if I received a Stimulus payment.  After transmitting, I read on this site that during the Federal review the question regarding Stimulus payment would be asked.  That did not happen.  I was paid 1200 for myself and 500 for my son in 2020 for a total of 1700.

Where was I supposed to enter this amount?  What line on the 1040?

Do I have to amend Federal?

Do I have to enter the amount on Illinois State 1040?  Where?  Thanks

What you received doesn't show up on the 1040.  But if you qualify for more like for the second Stimulus payment it will be on 1040 line 30.  If you didn't enter what you already got did it give it to you again on line 30?

The second round that came in December or January was for 600 each.  So you might qualify for 1200 more.

Under View Forms Tab. There is a Recovery Rebate Credit Worksheet where the data is entered.  In assist mode, this  is addressed as the first item under Federal Taxes Section / subgroup Federal Review. I suggest going back in, selecting those tabs and see if the question is not addressed there. The Stimulus Rebate is not taxable income. It is a tax credit. If you did not receive it (an were eligible) then you can apply that credit in your return. If you did receive it, then it has no impact on your final income tax amount.

Thank you for telling me how to find the Recovery Rebate Credit Worksheet.

When I located it, at the bottom of the page the following was printed:  Based on AGI of $xxx, xxx the credit is phased out.  I guess that is why I was not alerted a question about the Economic Impact Payments I received during the final review.  Do you also think that is why I was not alerted?   Do you think I do not have to enter the amounts I received anywhere on my returns?  I received one in December 2020 and one in January 2021.

My Federal nor State returns have the Stimulus amounts on them.  I know the amounts are not figured in my income.  Thanks

VolvoGirl, I replied to butlerj59 below.  Nothing appeared on line 30.  I got $1200 as you stated in January for myself and child.  butlerj59 helped by suggesting I find the worksheet and as I told him the worksheet was blank but at the bottom the following was typed:  Based on AGI of $xxx, xxx the credit is phased out.  I did not know it mattered about how big the AGI is.  Thanks
