The worksheet is not part of the return so you need to go to Print and then save the return with all worksheets as a pdf and you can view the computation.
That option isn't available to me. I filed yesterday, so maybe after filing, you can't get the worksheets? I saw that option when I was previewing the return before filing, but I didn't save that version.
It is still available to you --go to file section and there you can click on print.
I'm sorry, I'm not a noob, but I cannot find a way to get back to the file section. These are my options: Amend (change) return
Download/print return (PDF)
My Docs
My Analysis & Advice
View adjusted gross income (AGI)
View order details
View efile details
Download .tax file
When I go to print I get the option there to save as a pdf and it gives me the option of return only or all worksheets.
Yeah, the worksheet option simply isn't available to me in either print option I can find. Is this a glitch with the self employed online version?
If you use Print Center, it will give you an option to print to Include all worksheets. Follow steps below to get to Print Center.
**If your return is still active and you are inside the return, you can click on Tax Tools on the left, and then Print Center.
**If your return thinks you have already printed and filed, these are directions to Print Center.
Under Your tax returns & documents, select Amend (change) return. (You’ll not actually be amending your taxes.)
Select Amend using TurboTax Online.
In the left hand-menu, select Tax Tools.
Select Print Center.
Then, Print, save or preview this year’s return.
Now check the 2017 federal returns box and choose which forms to print out or all worksheets.
Select View or print forms, then go ahead and print.
NOTE: If you correct something after a reject or amend the return, it works better to print from Print Center. This also allows you to print ALL the forms and worksheets.
Great! Thank you, Michael. I was afraid to click the Amend option, because I didn't want the system to think I had an amended return when I come back to this next year. Looks like it worked fine, and I don't think it saved the amended return after getting my extended PDF and then abandoning the process. Thanks again.
Oh, if anyone else finds this answer - to get to the calculations for QBI, you need to look for the "SMART WORKSHEET FOR: Schedule C ([your business activity]): Profit of Loss from Business". There is another worksheet earlier in the document that doesn't explain how the lower-than-expected number for QBI was calculated. Bottom line is they deduct your self-employment health insurance premiums and half of self-employment tax from your net profit to get the QBI base. It's confusing, and I think the IRS regs aren't at all clear that this is the right way to do it, so some of us may be filing amended returns in the future.
