When will W-2's release? Can I find the employee ID number and enter it sooner. Note: I realize the government has been shut down for awhile.

Your employers are required to provide you with Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement no later than January 31st.

Please do NOT file your return until you receive your W-2. The W-2 may not match your final paystub for the year and you will make a lot of extra work for yourself if you have to then amend your return.
