When will Turbotax release Form 8915-E for hundreds of thousands that will require this form? IRS already released Alternative Filling Method for E-filed Returns guidance

Yes, but they have not release the form itself yet.   TurboTax does not currently support any attachments.

See below for a link to sign up for an email when the form is ready.

This form is necessary to report COVID related distributions from IRA's and other retirement plans to report the distribution, pay it back over 3 years or spread the tax over 3 years.

A COVID-19 related distribution is reported on a new 8915-E form that is not yet available and there is no estimated release date since the form is still in the draft state at the IRS.

The draft paper form 8915-E is here:

is there a wait ?   Its the evening of 2/25 and the site says its released,  yet my 1099R wont let me complete and the 8915-E isn't there to open from forms.   perhaps a glitch (  TT premier 2020 download )   I even did a update from the tools menu.   Anyone else have this dilemma ?

Form 8915-E, Qualified 2020 Disaster Retirement Plan Distributions and Repayments is available for both the TurboTax online web-based editions and the TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions.

If you are using the desktop editions you have to update your software.  Click on Online.  Click on Check for Updates.

You need to enter or edit your Form 1099-R and answer the questions concerning a Covid-19 distribution.

It is in all versions of TurboTax.  Go back to your 1099-R entries and click on Review/Edit.   When you continue through the entry screens, you will get the covid-related questions pertaining to Form 8915-E.    @Laffusrcu
