A payment to the IRS?   If you did not specify a date for the IRS to do a direct debit they will use the filing deadline of April 15, 2024.

Withdrawals take place on the date you specify. If you didn't specify a date, then the direct debit would be the default date, 4/15/2024.

I believe I specified a date about a week before April 15th to assure it would happen on time but I can't find a record of it and there is nothing I can find in Turbotax.  Seems like that should be on there.  Turbotx does say it will pay on April 15th if I didn't specify a different date, whcih I did.

Look for the date on the Federal Information Worksheet within your saved documents. If you don't see it, then go back in and save your file with all worksheets.

I cannot find any document specifically entitled "Federal Tax Worksheet". The only place where my direct debit is mentioned is in the page called "Electronic Filing Instructions for your 2023 Federal Tax Return". That page says "Your return shows that you have elected  to pay your balance due of XXX by Direct Debit using the following information: ... "Where is that information in the tax return itself? I cannot find any instructions to the IRS for this. Thanks

That worksheet does not go to the IRS. How can I confirm that the IRS got my direct debit instructions?

Where do we find out when we scheduled the payment? The instructions to find this information is so convoluted it has me adding a state to my taxes?! Whats up with that?

I work as a TT product expert: after you have efiled go to Print My Return, Add all Federal Worksheets, view or print, the information will be on the first page.

That worksheet represents everything that was submitted during the e-file process and that is your copy for your records.  Other than that, you will have to wait for the debit to occur.

I used Download/Print of my e-filed tax return and no Federal Worksheet downloads. I just want to be sure my payment is scheduled. This really shouldn't be difficult to find!

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.

This will take you back in to the 2023 online tax return.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.  Then click on Print Center.  Choose the year you want to print.  Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets

Call IRS e-file Payment Services 24/7 at 1-888-353-4537 to inquire about your payment.
