When I go file an extension under "Other Tax Situations", it says that the deadline for an extension has passed, which shouldn't be true. So how can I file my extension?
FYI I am using the Free File version of TurboTax

It's referring to an extension for your 2017 return (last year). The extension process for 2018 won't be open until around mid-March.
