when I enter my medical expenses on schedule A, turbotax is not adding them correctly

when I enter my medical expenses on Schedule A, turbotax is not adding them correctly.  It is coming up with a figure over $16,000 more than the actual expenses.  I have checked my entries 4 times.  What is wrong?

You may have expenses transferred in from other entries on your tax return.

Some of the medical expenses can come from other entries on your tax return. If you entered a form 1095-A reporting medical insurance premiums it may transfer those over to schedule A. Also, if you entered medical insurance in the business portion of TurboTax, those expenses may get transferred to schedule A. The same would be true of Medicare premiums entered off of your social security statement.
