When I download my e-filed return, why does the file say "do not file - form not final"? In the past, the downloaded return has shown a cover letter summarizing my taxes.

It might be because some of your forms are available for efiling but not for printing yet.

 

Use this link to reference when your tax forms will be available. You can search by TurboTax Product and for IRS and State-Specific Forms.

Thank you, that explains why the "do not file - form not final" water print appears on the Form 1040-ES of my Federal Return.

 

Why does my downloaded return not include the TurboTax cover sheet, which summarizes my tax situation?

I am having the same issue: "FROM NOT FINAL". This is even though both federal and state returns have been accepted. It doesn't make sense. I paid for this service and don't yet have a FINAL version of my returns. Why? I am questioning whether to use TurboTax again next year...
