When filling an entry for a sale from 1099B it says box 1b can be blank but will not save that way, the federal review keeps saying it needs review. How to proceed?

This is on multiple undetermined term transactions. The 1099B does not have a box 1b. The date acquired says "N/A". The form says: "Report on Form 8949, Part I with Box B checked or Part II with Box E checked. Basis is NOT provided to the IRS. (Line 12)
“Date acquired,” “Cost or other basis,” "Accrued market discount," "Wash sale loss disallowed" and “Gain or loss (-)” are NOT reported to the IRS." Turbo Tax will not let me proceed with the Federal Review until this is resolved but I'm not sure how.

Everything you mentioned above is critical to determine the tax on your securities trades.

I suggest you go back to the input screens for stock sales.  The two most common errors are the dates and the cost basis.

  1. Start at Federal
  2. Wages and Income
  3. Scroll to Investments & Savings
  4. Select Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other (1099-B) [Start or Revisit]
  5. Did you have investment income in 2022? - Yes
  6.  Get ready to be impressed Continue.
  7. Select Enter a different way.
  8. Choose the Box Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds Continue
  9. Follow the interview to post your information.

Unfortunately, you will have to check line by line.

Make sure the "Date Acquired" and "Cost Basis" is posted and accurate.

  1. As you enter the dates and proceeds, there is a check box for The cost basis is incorrect or missing on my 1099‑B
  2. Use this option to correct any errors on a cost basis.

If this does not completely answer your question, please contact us again and provide some additional details.

I found an existing question and solution thread nearly identical to the same problem I was having:

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/how-to-input-undetermined-term-transactions-for-noncovered-tax-lots-on-1099-b/01/2245806/highlight/true#M805913

Someone in the thread even mentions the same fund, SPDR GOLD TRUST GOLD ETF, so I just followed that thread.
