When filing married jointly for the first time, how do I enter my spouse's income info (1099 int, 1099 div, etc)?

In every income section of the TurboTax program there will be selections you can make to indicate who the income or form belongs to when filing a joint tax return.

To enter your spouse's 1099-INT and 1099-DIV, please complete the following steps below:

  • Sign in to TurboTax (if you're not already signed in)
  • Click on the Take me to my return button
  • Click on Federal Taxes tab
  • Click on Wages and Income tab
  • Scroll down to Interest and Dividends (Show More)
  • Select the Start/Update button (next to Interest on 1099-INT) and follow the Interview questions
  • Then, go back to the Interest and Dividends section and select Start/Update (next to Dividends 1099-DIV) and continue answering the Interview questions. (See images below).
