When entering my birth date it tells me it's an invalid date what is the proper way to enter your birthday to be able to move on?

I entered it as 02/12/1979 and it keeps telling me that it's an invalid date any suggestions?

Try entering just the numbers - 02121979. the program will put in the slashes.
