When confirming payment options it says turbotax federal is $40 and then pay with your refund $40. What is the federal charge?

Hello, what is turbo federal $40 mean?  then you stated its a refund.  Are you asking about State E-file fees ? My understanding is that TurboTax ( not Federal government) charges a fee for such service, and you have the option to deduct E-file fees from your refund (usually from State refund) for a fee imposed by TTax. hope this helps.. 

I was trying to attach a picture of what I am seeing but it won’t let me. Under the confirmation of your payment options at the very end of the filing process, there is a section that says

TurboTax fees

   TurboTax federal- $40.00

   TurboTax state- $0

   Option to pay with your refund- $40.00

total fees- $80.00

what I am wondering is what is the TurboTax federal charge for $40.00
