What will happen if I filed this year with a totally new account and didn’t know my AGI from last year so I signed up for a new pin? Will I have to amend it?

I didn’t know my AGI from last year so I selected the “didn’t file last year” option and it let me select a pin. Now that I’m reading it says you have to use 2016 AGI in order to file 2017 return. Do I have to amend the return? I’ve already requested copies of everything from the IRS but what do I do now?

If you filed a 2016 return the IRS requires you to enter your AGI to E-File. If you were able to file your return might be rejected. If it is rejected, you will receive notification. At that point, you will have to get a copy of your 2016 transcript which it seems you have already done.

You don't have to amend the return. The AGI is only needed for the E-Filing process.
