What to put in Box 5 and Box 6 (State number) when only have an amount on Box 7 in 1099NEC?

What to put in Box 5 and Box 6 (State number) when only have an amount on Box 7 in 1099NEC?

Leaving them in blank as other suggest do not work.  Turbo Tax still reported as there is a problem to fix  on the 1099NEC.

I read you can put Taxpayer Tin, but I am not sure if that information should be on the Box 5 or 6.

If box 5 is blank or shows 0, this means that you have no state tax withheld.

In this case, leave all 3 boxes 5,6 and 7 blank. Do not enter the amount in box 7 - State income.

Thank you for your answer but then my question is, would then the state add that self-employment income to the State?

Yes, you should report this self-employed income on your state tax return, even if no state tax is withheld.
